Difference Between Cover Letter and Letter of Interest

Cover Letter

A cover letter as the name indicated is attached as a cover. Cover to what? It is attached as the cover of your CV when you apply for a job. It has a brief introduction to what you have achieved and how you are fit for the job you applied for. A cover letter also includes the special skills that might be useful in the job you applied for.

A cover letter is written or attached just when you apply for a job that is available. It has your contact information that the employees can use if they decide to hire you.

Letter of Interest

A letter of interest is written when a person is interested in a particular organization or company. When someone who is looking for a job is interested in a particular organization, they write a letter of interest. This letter includes their special skills and contact information. It also includes some statements that states about the sender is interested in working with the company itself.

It is not necessary for the company to be having job interviews at the moment or even if a position available for a person to be filled at all. A letter of interest says that if a position is available for a person who has the following skills, then you can contact them here. It also includes the reasons that how you can be proved helpful for the company.

A CV is not necessarily attached with the letter of interest but for a better impression, a CV is attached with the letter these days.
